Max Lucado is an American Christian minister and preacher, his ministry was associated with the Central Church of Christ in Miami. And currently he is the preaching minister of the Iglesia Colinas de Roble (Oak Hills Church) of San Antonio Texas.

Lucado is a communicator and preacher well known for his extensive participation in different television programs, such as Larry King Live, NBC Nightly News, USA Today and the Fox News Channel.

Max Lucado has also gained great popularity for his role as a writer. With a literary work that has frequently led him to occupy the bestseller list of The New York Times newspaper.

The American magazine “Christianity Today” (Christianity Today) named Lucado as the Pastor of America. Just as Reader's Digest magazine chose him as America's Best Preacher in 2005.

Biography of Max Lucado

Max Lucado was born in 1955 in the City of San Angelo, Tom Green County in the US state of Texas. His parents are Jack and Thelma Lucado, Max being the youngest of his four children.

For work reasons, the Lucado family resides in the city of Andrews in the State of Texas, where Max is raised. Jack Lucado worked as a worker in the oil industry, while his wife worked as a nurse.

Max Lucado studied and graduated from Andrews High School, then wanted to study law, but soon changed his mind. This change was due to his decision to be a Christian missionary.

In order to be a missionary, he entered Abilene Christian University, where he obtained a degree in Communication and a master's degree in Biblical Studies. In addition, he had to serve two years in a Christian church in order to gain experience for his ministry.

So after graduating, Lucado moved and resided in the city of Miami, State of Florida to serve in a local church. There he began his ministry pastoring a singles group, while also writing a column in the church newsletter.

Lucado's writings for this bulletin were later compiled and used for the publication of what would become his first book, titled "On the Anvil."

Already married to Denalyn, Lucado goes on a mission trip with his wife to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. From where he returns in 1987 due to the death of his father and being close to his mother.

In 1988 he ministered at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas. Starting the year 2007 due to health problems, Max assumes the role of writer and co-pastor in the church.
