God's justice

God by nature is fair therefore justice in him is manifested naturally towards all his creation. So God's justice will evidently always be upon all mankind.

Even though all mankind was justified as well as esteemed righteous before God by the sacrifice and grace of his Son Jesus Christ. We can only enjoy the intrinsic goodness in divine justice if each human being establishes it in his life.

Although it is easy for the believer to receive God's blessings, when the hour of his justice arrives, it is not so easy to accept that moment. However, the scriptures say that this natural manifestation of God is also important and necessary; since it is intimately related to divine holiness.

The believer preferably believes in God as the friendly and kind Father, capable of loving him without taking into account his weaknesses, foolishness or sins. But when his word tells us that God is besides the Father, he is also a judge, it is difficult for us to accept such an affirmation.

This is how it is essential that as Christians we know and accept that God's justice exists. A justice that is absolute and upright showing that God is eternally just in himself.

By virtue of this justice, God as judge and entirely Holy will remain on the opposite side to everything that violates his holiness. So in order to please God and enjoy his blessings, we must keep righteousness by staying on the path of holiness.

The Biblical Teaching of God's Justice

The Bible makes evident in all its books as a teaching for humanity, the manifestation of God's justice as a consequence of the disobedience of the people before their creator and Lord. Next, it will be possible to see how from the genesis God shows his divine justice towards his people in the biblical history.

God's justice before the Mosaic Law

From the genesis the Bible manifests the justice of God with the fall to sin of the first couple that of Adam and Eve. The first man and the first woman are judged by God for an act of disobedience to his command.

Genesis 3:17 (NIV): To the man he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree of that I forbade you eat, cursed be the earth because of you! With hard work you will eat of it all the days of your life.

Genesis 3:23 (NIV): Then God the Lord expelled the human being from the garden of Eden, to work the land from which it had been made.

Subsequently, the justice of God is manifested again before a world submerged in corruption and sin in the times of Noah. God establishes his justice at this time by sending a flood to the earth.

In the times of Abraham, God judges the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, making them disappear from the face of the earth due to their abominations:

Genesis 18:20 (NIV): Then the Lord said to Abraham, -The cry against Sodom and Gomorrah It's already unbearable, and his sin is very serious.

Genesis 19:13 (NIV): Because we are going to destroy it. The outcry against these people has reached the Lord, and it is already unbearable. That's why he sent us to destroy it.

In the times of the slavery of Israel in Egypt, the justice of God is present against the Egyptian gods, by sending ten devastating plagues:

Exodus 7: 3 (KJV 1960): And I I will harden Pharaoh's heartAnd I will multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

Exodus 12: 12b (KJV 1960): AND I will execute my judgments on all the gods of Egypt. I Jehovah.

The Justice of God in the Mosaic Law

Beginning with the Mosaic Law, all the books of the Old Testament of the Bible present God's justice. The law given by God to Moses at Sinai was applied with rigid corrective disciplines when Israel broke the commandments.

Do you know what these commandments are? Meet them with us here Commandments of the law of God that you must comply Where will you learn that all of them are the statutes that contain the Mosaic Law, which were ordained by God first for the people of Israel and then for his entire church.

In the case of the books of the prophets or those considered prophetic, the voice of God is manifested first with warnings of judgment on Israel. These constant warnings are followed by promises of restoration depending on the true repentance of God's people; in the wisdom books of the Old Testament they reveal God as Judge of his people Israel in the same way:

Ecclesiastes 11:9 (NIV): Rejoice, young man, in your youth; he let your heart enjoy adolescence. He follows the impulses of your heart and responds to the stimulation of your eyes, but keep in mind that God will judge you for all this.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 (NIV): Well God will judge every deed, good or bad, even the one carried out in secret.

In the Old Testament divine justice is expressed in the wrath of God, but not because he does not love his people, but because he hates sin. Men were the object of God's wrath because of evil, and of the worldly ideas that they adopt, moving away from communion with the creator.

God's Justice in the New Testament

If righteousness and justice are the life of the Mosaic Law in the Old Testament. When you get to the New Testament you can see that they are also the central theme in the discrepancy between Jesus with the scribes and Pharisees, there you can see that God judges these Jews for rejecting Jesus Christ:

Matthew 21:43-44 (NIV): 43 -That is why I tell you that the kingdom of god will be taken away from you and it will be given to a people that produces the fruits of the kingdom. 44 Whoever falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and if it falls on anyone, he will crush him to dust.

Passages like that of Ananias and Sapphira in the book of acts show God's justice in the face of lies. Or in the form of illness, as happened with the church of Corinth due to disrespect for the Lord's Lord's Supper:

1 Corinthians 11:29-32 (KJV 1960): 29 Because he who eats and drinks unworthilywithout discerning the body of the Lord, judgment eats and drinks for itself. 30 wherefore there are many sick and weakened among you, and many sleep. 31 If, then, we examined ourselves, we would not be judged; 32 more being judged, we are punished by the Lord, so that we are not condemned with the world.

God is love

So that in the gospel of Jesus as well as in the apostolic letters the justice of God can be seen present. However, if in the Old Testament one can speak of God as judge, in the New Testament one must speak of God as love.

Since from Christ the judgments of God bring in themselves the manifestation of his love for everyone who wants it. Because through Christ the judgment of God is made manifest by cleansing us from all filth.

Christ purifies us, sanctifies us and justifies us before God, only in this way He can place his glory in love in incorruptible bodies. Now with justice it is important to recognize that the wrath of God is part of it.

We then have to know that we must stop doing the things that God does not like or that are sin in his eyes, because he hates sin. If we don't or if there is no true repentance, we must be aware that God will unleash his wrath and issue the judgment we do not want.

Many times we face struggles with our weaknesses, doing what we know is not pleasing to God. In these circumstances it is necessary that the Lord bring in us a holy judgment.

Judgment that will purify us, strengthen us and make us grow reaching a higher spiritual level in Christ Jesus. Therefore, God's judgment towards his children is necessary, because without his justice we cannot be earthen vessels worthy of his glory.

The Justice of God manifested in Grace

Divine grace manifested through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the means by which God saves mankind from all their sins. Man's salvation is therefore not achieved because he has done something to deserve it.

Despite the sins of man, the grace of God reaches and saves them, which is given by him sovereignly. Yet God would be doing injustice if he did not bestow his blessings on deserving men and women.

God is sovereign and free to shower blessings on the worst of sinners even without deserving it, as sovereign and almighty he can save some and not others and not commit injustice, because he does not owe salvation to anyone. The gospel of salvation by grace states that it is offered by God to all mankind, through the justification of Jesus Christ.

Through the righteousness of Jesus Christ, any man or woman can be forgiven of their evil deeds and become righteous before God.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 (NIV): 20 So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God exhorted you through us: -In the name of Christ we beg you to be reconciled to God-. 21 God treated him as a sinner for us who had committed no sin, so that in him we might receive the justice of God.

In his earthly ministry, Jesus did not despise the sinful men who came before his presence humbly seeking his pity, mercy and salvation. However, if I get to rule out those who in their own reason considered themselves upright and just.

Faith and the justice of God in the life of a Christian

Faith is the fruit of the righteousness of living a life in Christ Jesus, believing and being an imitator of Christ. As it is written in the word of God, by believing we are justified by faith:

Romans 1:17 (KJV 1960): Because in the gospel God's righteousness is revealed by faith and for faith, as it is written: But the just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:11 (ESV): And it is evident that by law no one is justified before God, why "The just shall live by faith";

However, for the Christian it is also necessary to persevere in faith and not allow himself to go backwards. We must take care of that priceless and most lasting possession that we possess in Christ Jesus, his Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 10: 34b-35 (NASB): Knowing that you have for yourselves a better and more lasting possession. 35 Therefore, do not discard your trust, which has great reward.

Hebrews 10:38-39 (NASB): But my fair he will live by faith; and if he goes back, my soul will not be pleased with him. 39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith for the preservation of the soul.

And it is that when we believe, the Holy Spirit takes possession and takes everything from us, our being surrenders to Christ.

faith is a treasure

Therefore, faith is a treasure and must be like the gold of Ophir with which Solomon built the temple, just as Noah also used it in the construction of the ark. Ophir was a region located between Sheba and Havilah in southern Arabia.

This region of southern Arabia was very famous for its excellent gold, as several Old Testament passages say. The gold of Ophir was considered unsurpassed, being pure and unmixed, so the faith of a Christian should be an unsurpassed treasure like the gold of Ophir, pure and unmixed.

There is a faith that is for justice and it is the faith of Christ, because we must know that there are people who have faith without being in Christ. However, that faith does not produce justice, so our faith must be based on the Rock that is Christ Jesus.

The Just in the justice of God

In the verses cited above, the word Just can be seen, which comes from the Greek yósher, whose concordance translates into equity, fair, straight or uprightness. In the same way, the word Faith is observed, which comes from the Greek pistis that translates into conviction, faith, fidelity, grace, trust in God, constancy or perseverance in what is professed.

From this analysis it can be concluded that he who lives a life of righteousness by conviction and trust in Christ will live for salvation. So as Christians, what makes us righteous? The answer is Christ.

How do we increase our level of Justice? The answer is by believing more in Christ. Because our own righteousness is like a filthy rag, so says the prophet:

Isaiah 64:6 (ESV): All of us we are like the unclean, and like filthy rags all our righteous deeds; we all wither like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, carry us away.

A filthy rag that God washes with the blood of his Son, the blood of Jesus Christ justifies us and cleanses us before the Father. In the book of revelations Jesus' garments were stained with blood for all of us.

Revelation 19:13 (KJV 1960): I was dressed in a garment dyed in blood; and your name is: THE WORD OF GOD

salvation applies

The just trust in Christ for salvation, we also have to keep in mind that faith is the currency of the kingdom of God. Let us remember that for God, Abraham's faith was reckoned to him for righteousness.

Genesis 15:6 (NKJV): And Abram believed to the Lord, and that was counted for justice.

This means that our faith in Christ produces in us righteousness before God. To conclude, let us reflect on not accumulating riches on earth, but rather treasures in heaven, reviving faith and growing more and more in Christ Jesus.

These treasures will be counted in us for the justice of God, Amen! In this sense, having reconciliation with God is extremely necessary.

Enter here: Reconciliation with God: why is it so necessary?, where you will learn that reconciliation with our creator is necessary to achieve a balance in our spirituality.

We invite you to continue with us by reading the article on: Freedom in Christ: what does it mean and how to achieve it?, because we were all born to be free and live a full life in happiness.

However, many people live tied to chains of slavery such as vices, excesses, fear and sin, leading a life condemned to suffering and desolation. Unaware that the sins of mankind were assumed by the lamb of God.

Very good explanation about what the "Justice of God" means. The Lord bless you for the work you are doing...Many do not understand the meaning of Justice and for this reason they have little of the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...
