Among the teachings that Jesus showed his disciples, the sermon on the mount, which is found in the Gospel of Matthew, specifically in chapters 5, 6 and 7. In general, this can be considered one of the longest speeches, since it reflects the way in which one must live, think, act, Christians worship and speak in their daily lives.
What is the Sermon on the Mount?
The Sermon on the Mount or Mount was a teaching that the disciples and a large crowd of people received from Jesus of Nazareth. According to what it says in the Gospel of Matthew, three aspects of the utmost importance are contemplated in it: the Beatitudes, Our father and the known Golden Rule. However, he also mentions that men and women must follow the word of Christ all their lives, keep the commandments and love their neighbor.
Through the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches his disciples the correct way to pray and explains to his followers how to maintain direct communication with God at all times. Chapter 5
Chapter 5 contains the introduction to Jesus' speech, which began when several people followed him to a mountain, where he sat down to teach the following:
- The Beatitudes (5:3-12): Here it is shown that happiness does not come with money and power, so Jesus creates a list of things that God considers good, such as the intentions of the heart and loyalty.
- The salt of the earth and the light of the world (5:13-16): Through this teaching, God expects people to live on earth correctly and leave a positive effect.
- The law (5:17-20): Although many do not understand the purpose of God's laws, in this passage it is made clear that Jesus only came to encourage the people to comply with them and not continue committing sins.
- Anger (5:21-26): As many know, the results of anger are always negative. Therefore, Jesus warns them of this sin and encourages them to trust in their hearts so that anger does not penetrate them. A great challenge that will fill your life with wisdom to forgive and resolve conflicts.
- Adultery (5:27-30): Jesus suggests never falling into temptation, because a person capable of deceiving does not have a good heart.
- The divorce (5:31-32): Although, according to the law, divorce is allowed, God hopes that couples unite before him will never separate.

- Vengeance (5:38-42): Jesus encourages people to seek justice in a healthy way and offer forgiveness.
- Love towards the enemy (5:43-48): loving everyone equally is a way to get closer to God. Jesus says loving the enemy will make you special.
Chapter 6
In chapter 6 there are several acts that people must follow to get closer to God. To do this, you must not only want people's approval, but:
- Alms (6:1-4): if you want to do something good, do it in private. Jesus explains that those who do not advertise their deeds will be rewarded with glory.
- The prayer (6:5-15): Here Jesus teaches his disciples the correct way to pray, which today is known as the Our Father.
- The fast (6:16-18): Jesus encourages everyone to fast in private, without attracting attention. In this way, God will reward you for your humility and devotion.
- The money (6:19-21): remember that possessions do not accumulate on earth. The values will be the key to get closer to God, because the treasures will never go to heaven.
- Concerns (6:25-34): Jesus says that the best thing is to fulfill one day at a time, don't worry and let everything go naturally.

Chapter 7
In this last chapter of the Mountain Salmon, a speech related to the error of judging other people is exposed. Even more so when you don't even measure your own actions.
- Judge others (7:1-5): Many Christians believe that they have the right to condemn others, which is why Jesus calls them hypocrites. All people will be judged by God, who is the only one who has this power.
- Effective prayer (7:7-11): God's blessings attract abundance, so Jesus encourages everyone to ask Heavenly Father for it to be done for them.
- The Golden Rule (7:12): whatever you want people to do with you, do with them too. This is how the law is summed up.
- The narrow gate (7:13-14): The world offers many options for you to live as you want, but only by following God will you have eternal life.
- The tree and its fruits (7:15-20): if your heart is bad, your fruits will be bad. Therefore, live your whole life fulfilling the law of Christ so that you will be rewarded.
- True disciples (7:21-23): not only is it enough to believe in God, it is necessary that you live according to his will. Remember that he knows how to distinguish between the good and the bad, with this the final judgment will be made.
- The two foundations (7:24-27): the one who listens to the teachings and follows them, will be as strong as a rock and nobody will defeat him.
