6ix9ine has finally been sentenced to two years in prison and five years of supervised release. After spending thirteen months in pretrial detention since he was arrested in November 2018, the rapper is expected to be released in late 2020, because after two years of sentence you have to subtract the time he has already been in prison.
In addition to 24 months in jail, Tekashi 69 will have to perform 300 hours of community service and pay a $35.000 fine for a total of eight offenses (including belonging to a criminal organization) that could have cost him sentences of 37 years to life in prison.

In reading his sentence, Judge Engelmayer said he did not agree with Tekashi Six Nine's lawyer when he assured that the time in preventive detention that he has spent 69 days was enough to compensate for the crimes he was accused of:

Special mention deserves the judge's words when holding Six Nine responsible for an increase in the gang's violence: "Before you, the band did not fight with entourages of other rappers and they had no interest in going after other musicians," said the judge in statements collected by the Twitter user @innercitypress.

Six Nine, accused star of the macro trial against the Nine Trey Bloods
The rapper 69, turned into a key government witness, was only one of the total of 12 men arrested in November 2018 (all members of the Nine Trey Bloods gang from New York) accused of, among other crimes, drug trafficking, organization of criminal gang and murder conspiracy.
Before reading the sentence, Judge Engelmayer reported that he had received two letters written by victims of 6ix9ine in a shooting in which they demanded that the young Daniel Hernández, 23, not be released. To these written communications we must add that of the aforementioned recommendation of the Government to reduce the sentence of Six Nine and also the letter from the mother of the son they both had in 2015.

Finally, the predictions that foreshadowed that Tekashi Six Nine would leave prison today have not been fulfilled. Having said that, Judge Engelmayer has indeed followed the criteria of the Prosecutor's Office and the Government, who recommended through two letters the drastic reduction of Six Nine's punishment in gratitude for its collaboration with the Justice in the trial of the Nine Trey gang members.
