Elizabeth Benavent Biography
Elisabet benavent was born in 1984 in Gandía, a municipality and city in the province of Valencia in Spain. As he tells us, his taste for literature arose at a very early age in his life, thanks to his sister who instilled in him that taste for reading. However, it is not known exactly at what age she began to write, she comments that it was more like a need to create stories.
Since then she began to characterize herself with her pseudonym as "Betacoqueta", her most social face as she expresses in her interviews. With which she began to make works from her own blog in which she wrote her stories; which are recognized by the romantic-contemporary genre as she herself has baptized them.
She graduated with a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Cardenal Herrera CEU University in Valencia. After that, she moved to Madrid (where she currently resides) where she completed a master's degree in Communication and Art at the Complutense University.
The jump to fame
He made his first claim to fame with the publication of his first book, called "In Valeria's shoes«, on January 3, 2013, through a digital platform. Novel of which we have a review of its direct adaptation to Netflix.
A few months after self-publishing, Suma, a publishing house that saw potential in it, decides to publish this novel as the first book in the "Valeria" saga. Saga composed of the misadventures of Valeria's character and her friends.
Due to its immense popularity, the saga was continued consecutively that same year of 2013, by the books of «Valeria in the mirror", "Valeria in black and white", "Valeria naked". With the increase in the figures for sale of the saga with more than 1.200.000 copies, the publisher decides to bring as a closing book to Lola's diary 2015.
This series of texts has been published in more than 5 different languages such as French, Dutch, Russian, Turkish, Hungarian, Serbian, Croatian, Slovak and Macedonian.
New Developments
With the current success of his first saga, Benavent decides to start two series of novels in 2014 with the trilogy baptized as «My choice". It is made up of “someone I'm not" released in 2014, and «Someone like you" and "Someone like me" both published in 2015; story that narrates the development of a love triangle.
And as a second saga we find "Silvia" composed of a biology in which the novels of «Chasing Sylvia» y Finding Sylvia. Which tell how, after being abandoned by her partner, a worker begins a peculiar relationship with a rock star.
Two years later, in 2016 he published three novels. The first is the beginning of a trilogy baptized with the name «My island", novel in which the protagonist runs a guest house. Within which she meets a man who falls in love with her.
The following two novels are part of another biology called «Martina Horizon”, which integrates "Martina with sea views" and "Martina on the mainland".
The following year, in 2017, he launched another bilogy that bears the name «Sofia" with the novelsThe magic of being Sofia» Y "The magic of being us». It is a well-known story in which a person who is not looking for love (in this case a waitress); he falls in love when he discovers that magic or click only happens when you look into another person's eyes.
Additionally, that same year he published «This notebook is for me». Book that is nothing more than a notebook in which to make points, as well as can function as a personal diary.
Last years
A few years ago, in 2018 exactly, he published another saga composed of two books, which is called «Songs and Memories» and is made up of "We were songs" and "We will be memories". Stories that tell about the burdens and emotional falls of the past, making use of the protagonist Macarena for a greater impact.
In October of last 2020, the surprise was announced that this saga will receive a film adaptation. With María Valverde and Alex González giving life to the protagonists Macarena and Leo respectively.
Once this saga is completed, Betacoqueta publishes in 2019 «All the truth of my lies Titled story that leaves little to the imagination. In which he recounts how lies can cause the progressive breakdown of friendship in a group of friends.
The year 2020 is used to release his new novel, which bears the flagship name «A perfect tale." Within which a love story between success and doubt is told, of how prejudices can be a great basis for conflict.
Nowadays
Thanks to the prolonged success of his work, on May 8, 2020, the Netflix online chain premiered the season of Valeria. A series inspired by the first novels of Elisabet benavent, having Diana Gómez, Paula Malia, Silma López and Teresa Riott as actors.
The moderate success of the series, full of humor that can be seen and the good reviews of the first season. They have generated a green light for the realization of a second one.
