What are the parts of the Bible?
The parts of the Bible are divided into two parts called: the Old Testament and the New Testament. This division is made up of 66 books written by more than 40 different people at different times, recounting everything that the Lord wanted to reveal to his creation.
In these two great divisions that make up the parts of the Bible we will find that in the Old Testament we find God's decision to take Israel as his people. While Israel demonstrates her love and her faith in one God, Jehovah Almighty as the only King of kings and Lord of lords.

The old testament
The old testament are all those books that form the parts of the Bible that capture all the events that arose before Christ came into the world. The events presented in the Old Testament took place in the area that remains in the east of the Mediterranean basin, known as the land of Canaan and later called the land of Israel.

Genesis

Genesis 1:1

Exodus

Issues

Deuteronomy
Deuteronomy is the Hebrew word debarim whose meaning is: words. It is the last book that belongs to the pentateuch and that is another part of the Bible that focuses on the arrival of the people of Israel in the lands of Moab.
It represents what the King of kings and Lord of lords seeks from his people and it is when Jehovah establishes the Law, reaffirms that Jehovah really is the creator of heaven and earth and shows God's relationship with his people.
Deuteronomy 4: 40
40 And keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you, and you may prolong your days on the land that the Lord your God is giving you forever.
Historical books
The books that make up this part of the word of God are called by the Hebrew Bible the previous prophets: Joshua, Judges, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings and 2 Kings.

Joshua
It is the first book that is also another part of the Bible and the historical books. Joshua is the person established by God to take the role of Moses after his death. Judges
Judges is a group of Israelites who after the death of Joshua, were in charge of directing and taking care of Israel from the enemies that surrounded them.
Among the characters found here we can mention: Gideon who was a peasant, Deborah who is called a prophetess, Jephthah son of a prostitute and finally we find Samson of great physical strength and one of the most popular characters in the word of God. God.
Judges 2:16
16 And the Lord raised up judges to deliver them out of the hand of those who plundered them.
Business Registration
It is the third book that we get within the historical books and unlike Joshua, Ruth does represent the central theme of the book. She was married to one of Naomi's sons and when he and his two brothers died, she decided to return to Bethlehem with his mother-in-law.
Given the qualities that Ruth had, she remarried and her first son, named Obed, was the paternal grandfather of King David.
Ruth 4: 17
17 And the neighbors gave her a name, saying: A son has been born to Naomi; and they called him Obed. This is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
1 Samuel and 2 Samuel
It is the same book divided into two 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel. Within this book, three people come to light who set a precedent for the people of Israel, such as: Samuel, Saul and David.

1 Kings
The succession of King David to King Solomon unfolds. Solomon was a very powerful and rich king, but one of his main characteristics was the intelligence and wisdom that he had asked God for. 1 Kings 1: 30

2 Kings
It is the sixth book that represents the historical books and continues with the events that are related in 1 Kings, giving entrance to the life of Elisha, the disciple of Elijah and ending with the destruction of Israel.
2 Kings 25: 1
25 It came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came with all his army against Jerusalem, and besieged it, and erected towers against it all around.
1 Chronicles
In 1 Chronicles we will get the genealogical line from Adam to David. They also deal with the issues of rebuilding the Temple and the walls that were in Jerusalem. In these books that are part of the Bible, we can see a recount of what is established in 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings and 2 Kings.

2 Chronicles
It is the second part of the book of Chronicles and begins with the reign of King Solomon, after the death of King David. The center of the message is the kingdom of Judah and the fall of Jerusalem, later there is the decree of Cyrus, for the return of the people of Israel to Jerusalem.
2 Chronicles 29: 4-5

Ezra
It is the sixth book of the historical books of the parts of the Bible and shows the return of Israel to Jerusalem after being in exile. We will also be able to find the role of Ezra as a priest and the great trust that he gave to King Artaxerxes to bring back the vessels to the Temple of God.
Ezra 7:6

Nehemiah
The mission that Nehemiah had placed by King Artaxerxes was the reconstruction of the walls of Jerusalem and the city. At the end of the book we can find the reforms imposed by Nehemiah, as well as details of the works of the Temple and the consecration of the walls of Jerusalem to Jehovah.
Nehemiah 1:11
11 I pray you, O Lord, let your ear now be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who wish to reverence your name; Grant now good success to your servant, and give him grace before that man. Because I served as cupbearer to the king.
Ester
It is the last book that includes the historical books in the Old Testament that are part of the Bible. It speaks of the Jews but not of Israel as a State or Nation. Esther is the wife of King Ahasuerus, a Jewess of beautiful beauty and charisma. She manages to free the Jewish people from the decree that had been ruled to kill all Jews and steal their belongings.
Esther 2:7
7 And he had brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, the daughter of his uncle, because she was an orphan; and the young woman was of beautiful figure and good appearance. When her father and her mother died, Mordecai adopted her as his daughter.
Wisdom and poetic books
It is the third classification in the parts of the Bible and that we find in the Old Testament and there are five books: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Songs.
The five books that are within this classification show a wisdom in their writers that is of great reference for us Christians. Demonstrating through his own experiences and adversities, how his faith remains intact in Jehovah of Hosts.

Job

One of the most powerful messages that we will find in the book of Job is that a servant who is faithful to Jehovah will always be blessed. Nothing that happens in our lives, however strong and painful it may be, is by chance, God is in control of everything.
1 Job: 6-7
6 One day the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.
7 And the Lord said to Satan: Where do you come from? Satan answering Jehovah, he said: To go around the earth and to walk on it.
Psalms
The book of Psalms is one of the most read books by Christians since the prayers that are presented there by the psalmist, identify the circumstances that any child of God goes through. Topics such as faith, hope, repentance, sin, sadness, victory, among others, that are part of life.
Psalms 1: 1-2
1 Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor was he on the path of sinners,
Not even in the chair of scorners has he sat down;2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And on his law he meditates day and night.
Proverbs
The book of Proverbs is the second of the books found in the classification of poetic and wisdom books. This book recounts what wisdom truly is and its principle, which is the fear of the Lord.
It is the perfect guide to be wise and ask the Almighty Lord for wisdom in all areas of our lives and the benefits that being a wise person brings.
Proverbs 1: 7
7 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord;
The foolish despise wisdom and teaching.
Ecclesiastes
Ecclesiastes in the Hebrew is called oohelet which means: speaker or preacher. It is the shortest book we will get in the poetical and wisdom books. In it we will find various comparisons made by the author of this wonderful book between realities found in life.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-3
3 Everything has its time, and everything that is wanted under heaven has its hour.
2 Time to be born, and time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted;
3 time to kill, and time to heal; a time to destroy, and a time to build;
The song of songs
The song of the songs of Solomon or as others call them "The songs of Solomon", is the last book found in the classification of poetic and wisdom books.
It is a book where its central theme is pure love in a woman and a man. We could also relate it to Jesus' love for his church, whom he calls his bride.
Songs 6.3
3 I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine;

Prophetic Books
It is the last division that includes the parts of the Bible and that we will find in the Old Testament. The prophetic books that we will find in the word of God, there are seventeen books, which are: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.
The Lord shows his chosen ones through visions so that they will prophesy the things that were about to happen, that have already happened and that will happen.
In the Hebrew, the prophets found in this section are classified as the later prophets and the minor prophets. This does not mean precisely that his prophecies are of minor importance, but that the books are smaller.
Isaiah
In the book of Isaiah it is reflected how the prophet condemns the infidelities that the people of Israel had against God, all the sins they had committed, making it clear that Almighty God is a God of justice and that although they celebrated the holidays and did the cults, these were nothing, given their lack of love and fear of Jehovah.
We will also find the message of faith and hope that the King of kings and Lord of lords has for the Jews who are exiled in Babylon.
Isaías 1: 1-2
1 Vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, which he saw about Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2 Hear, heavens, and listen, earth; for the LORD speaks: I have brought up children, and brought them up, and they have rebelled against me.
Jeremiah
He is another great prophet that Jehovah raised up so that Judah and Jerusalem would turn from their evil ways. It is the longest prophetic book that we find in the word of God. There we can also see the attacks of which Jeremías was a victim and how he courageously continued with his mission.

Wailing
This book, which forms one of the parts of the Bible, is composed of five lament poems full of deep sadness for the people of Jerusalem.
In these you can see the sadness of Zion for its captivity, the sadness of the destruction of Israel, the hope of the people for their liberation, the punishment of Zion and the prayer of a afflicted people.
Lamentations 1:1
1 How alone the populous city has remained!
She who is great among the nations has become like a widow; the lady of the provinces has been made a tributary.
Ezekiel
He is one of the exiled Jews in Babylon, he was called to be a priest at 30 years of age and Jehovah of armies also calls him to be a prophet. Among the prophecies that God reveals to Ezekiel are: the fall of Israel, the judgment against the pagan nations, the restoration of Israel and the rebuilding of the new Temple in the future Jerusalem.
Ezequiel 2: 3

Daniel
A young Jew who never doubted being faithful to the Lord in all things, without bending his faith and love for Jehovah, even in the face of the king's rulings. The Creator rewards him with great wisdom and begins the book showing how the Lord revealed to Daniel the dreams that disturbed the king.
We can also appreciate the favor of God in delivering them from the punishments imposed by the king on the advice of his advisers.
This book is also considered apocalyptic because of the prophecies that are shown and that show a great relationship with the book of Revelation.
Daniel 1: 8
8 Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the king's portion of food or with the wine that he drank; he therefore asked the chief of the eunuchs not to be forced to defile himself.
Hosea
The book of Hosea presents as its central message the infidelity and irreverence of the people of Israel against the God of Jacob and Abraham. As well as observing the great love of Jehovah and his mercy towards the people and even so the chosen people of God will not come to their senses.
At the end of this book there is a message of hope and love from God of hosts to his people.
Hosea 1:2

Joel
The prophecies found in Joel allude to the day of the Lord, that is, to the end times when the wrath of the Lord will be seen on the world. Showing his love, forgiveness and mercy to those who love him.
Joel 1:15
15 Woe to the day! For the day of the Lord is near; it will come as destruction from the Almighty.
Amos
It is the eighth book that we can find within the prophetic books of the Old Testament. Amos was a peasant and a great prophet of God, taking as his initial theme the judgment that Jehovah will have on the neighboring nations of Israel.
The judgment and restoration of God's chosen people are also part of this short but wonderful book.
Amos 1:1-2
1 The words of Amos, who was one of the shepherds of Tekoa, who prophesied about Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 He said: The Lord will roar from Zion, and will give his voice from Jerusalem, and the fields of the shepherds will mourn, and the summit of Carmel will dry up.
Obadiah
In this book we will also find prophecies against the nations, the exaltation of Israel, the day of Jehovah and the humiliation that Edom would suffer for turning against the people chosen by God and thus creating a climate of tension and enmity between them and Israel.
Obadiah 1:1
1 Obadiah's vision.
Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom: We have heard the cry of the LORD, and a messenger has been sent to the nations. Rise up, and let us rise up against this people in battle.
Jonah
Jonah, unlike the other prophets, did not want to serve God outside of Israel, exactly in Nineveh. In the end, he decides to do the will and the mission that Jehovah had given him and that is when he prepares to go to Nineveh and announce that in forty days the city would be destroyed.
Jonah 1:2-3
2 Get up and go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against her, because her wickedness has come up to me.
3 But Jonah got up to flee from the presence of Jehovah from Tarshish, and went down to Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish; he paid his passage, and embarked to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of Jehovah.
Micah
The book of Micah within the group of prophetic books, we can find it in position number eleven. Micah within the prophecies that were revealed to him was the judgment that Judah and Israel would have, the universal reign of Jehovah, the corruption of Israel and the mercy of God.
This prophet sent by God was in Judah but the Lord used him to also take the message to Israel, demonstrating once again that God is a sovereign God and that no matter where we are, for Him there are no borders.
Micah 1: 1
1 The word of the Lord that was addressed to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah; what he saw over Samaria and Jerusalem.
Nahum
Like Micah, in the prophetic book of Nahum he understands and his only focus of attention is on the fall and total destruction of Nineveh and God's vengeance, making it clear that vengeance belongs only to the Almighty and that although it is slow for the wrath and great in mercy, he is also a just God who sees the wickedness of men.
Nahum 1: 2
2 Jehovah is a jealous and avenging God; Jehovah is an avenger and full of indignation; he takes revenge on his opponents and gets angry with his enemies.
Habakkuk
The book shows us how the prophet of God tries to understand what Jehovah Almighty had revealed to him and the message is presented as a conversation between the Creator and this prophet of God.
The prophet could not understand why a city would be destroyed by a people who were more wicked and less righteous than his own. God in his majesty answers Habakkuk, showing him his sovereignty and that he should trust Him with all his heart and his soul.
Habakkuk 1: 2
2 How long, Lord, will I cry out, without you listening, and cry out because of violence without you saving?
Zephaniah
Like the other prophets, Zephaniah recounts the visions he received of the day of Yahweh's wrath, the judgment against the nations, and Israel's sin plus redemption. That is, the events that will happen at the end of time, where evil will end on the face of the earth.
Zephaniah 1:2
2 I will completely destroy all things off the face of the earth, says Jehovah.
Haggai
The central theme that is developed in Haggai is to restart the work for the reconstruction of the Temple, being an order that came from the Most High, so no more time could be allowed to carry out this work at any cost. Once the work was completed, the glory of God would be manifested in the most holy place and over his people.
Haggai 1:3-4
3 Then the word of the Lord came through Haggai the prophet, saying:

Zacarias
It is the penultimate book that belongs to the prophetic books of the Old Testament. In this we can appreciate how Jehovah reveals to Zacharias through symbols, the things that were going to happen.
He makes an exhortation to turn to Jehovah and gives us an introduction about fasting that the Lord God Almighty disapproves of and is not to his liking.
Zechariah 1:3
3 Say therefore to them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Return to me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will return to you, saith the LORD of hosts.
Malachi
