Synopsis of Nsee you up there

See you up there is the story of an illustrator with unrivaled talent who suffered a disfigurement on his face and a humble accountant. The two team up to pull off a scam that, dangerous as it may be, turns out to be fascinating.

It all starts when, a few hours after the truce was signed to end the war, the evil lieutenant Henri d'Aulnay-Pradelle orders an attack. Albert Maillard, the accountant, and Édouard Péricourt, the draftsman, realized the ruse of his superior and managed to survive. After having been in the trenches and then hospital stays, they both go to Paris, where the Belle époque is in full swing.

The contrast of parties full of luxury and joy versus corruption and exaggerated French patriotism do not coincide with its protagonists who have lived through hell. For this, Édouard, disfigured after the lieutenant's attack, fakes his death and with Albert, they plan his revenge.

overall film review

"See you up there", is a film with scenes that dazzle the viewer, with the outlandish designs of masks and costumes. The story is embroiled in issues of corruption, trauma, revenge, and death, mixed with black comedy appropriate for a post-war setting.

However, in its development an excess of narrative arguments whose threads mislead the public from the main plot is denoted. Besides, it prevents the characters from unfolding, making them somewhat empty and/or difficult to fully understand.

With all this, Albert Dupontel manages to "See you up there", be an interesting and entertaining film, worthy of discussing all its aspects and not for nothing has it been worthy of awards.
