Juan Toda - physicist and deputy director of written media of the General Directorate of Science Dissemination of the UNAM - and Julieta Fiero - general director of Science Dissemination of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) - are two renowned scientists extremely committed with the popularization of science and wrote The book of filth.

The authors say more about the book
This is perhaps a book that adults will be afraid to buy, that is, they have been denied it. Although some will surely want to read it, therefore we hope that they take courage and enjoy it.
On the contrary, children and young people will not hesitate to enjoy all the dirty things told in this book, for the simple reason that they know that we are all dirty, although some do not accept it.
All people do dirty things and inevitably, they are part of our being. Stop doing dirty things is impossible unless someone wants to prove otherwise, therefore, you need to realize that it is time to accept and know them.
The science of filth will help us to allow ourselves to be very filthy, but at the same time very healthy because the filthy culture is also part of our daily lives. No one can stop doing dirty things, even if they don't have dirty habits, the point of doing dirty things is to avoid the diseases they produce.
After many years of working in science research and popularization, they considered it opportune to write and talk about a topic with which, throughout their lives, these scientists have identified, laughed and had fun.
They conclude that when doing them or referring to them, some people feel embarrassed and blush, others, on the contrary, laugh; and there are those who can “be ignorant” or feign dementia. What is true is that they cannot stop doing their dirty work because it is an essential function of the organism of any living being. Who said you shouldn't talk about filth?
Opinions about the book
When we found the book, my fourteen-year-old son, upon seeing it, read it aloud to the whole family, giving the proper intonation in each sentence, being ironic and sarcastic as appropriate, and laughing out loud at each example.
It only took him thirty-five minutes to devour it and all of us paying attention. His dad, full of prejudices but also dirty, didn't want to listen to him.
For him it is a real issue because, at his age, we deal daily with the administration of his filth. He considers them normal and has no discretion of any kind. I try to warn you of the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene so that your filth does not affect your health.
