Through the following article you will be able to learn a little more about the life story of one of the most emblematic and beloved French painters such as Paul Cézanne, also considered one of the main fathers of Impressionism. Throughout his career he carried out important works that we will be talking about in this post.

Cézanne's works marked a milestone in the history of universal art. Thanks to his brilliant work, he managed to become one of the most representative figures in painting, not only in France but around the world. According to several collectors, with Cézanne he started "everything", referring to the beginning of groundbreaking movements that half a century later would converge in modernism.

Cézanne had the blessing of being born into a powerful and wealthy family, where most of its members were practitioners of the Catholic religion. The first years of artistic training for Cézanne were difficult, despite the fact that his family was rich. His father even helped him financially so that he could prosper in his career as a painter.

After the death of his father, Paul Cézanne was left in charge of an impressive inheritance, as well as closely following the religious teachings left by his father. This prominent French painter retained his Catholic beliefs throughout virtually his entire life.

Being just a young man of 22 years of age, Cézanne makes the decision to move to the city of Paris where he was a disciple of Camille Pissarro. Unfortunately, he was not very well valued in his time, rather he was considered a second-class artist, as confirmed by the repeated occasions in which he was rejected in galleries, as well as the impossibility of the artist to earn a living with his profession as a painter.

His work

The Frenchman Paul Cézanne managed to develop an impeccable career as a painter, especially in his native country, although he was also able to have a positive impact on other countries on the European continent. In this part of our article we wanted to share with you some of the most recognized and famous works by Cézanne in all of history.

Cezanne's works

It is no secret to anyone that the paintings of this French painter are described as initiators of modern pictorial art. Each of his works, appreciated posthumously, reflect elements and colors unthinkable for his time. One of the things that most characterized this artist was his struggle to simplify shapes and experiment with ways of perceiving space, for that reason the perspectives and proportions of his works are sometimes very peculiar.

Most of his paintings are created by blotches of color nested into one another, giving the paintings a wet, fantastical, “blurred” look. One of his most emblematic works is undoubtedly "Vista de Bonnieres" created in the 1866 decade and which is currently in the Fabre Museum, Montpellier.
