The apple is the fruit resulting from the cultivation of the Malus domestica tree, original from Central Asia, they have been cultivated and consumed for many years, reaching America thanks to the Spanish, Portuguese and British settlers.

The apple contains beneficial elements such as pectin, fiber, calcium, iron, amino acids that intervene in the immune system, in the digestive system or in the composition of tissues; in addition, antioxidants (catechins) and sugars (fructose, sucrose and glucose).

Below we will detail four recipes with apples that you can make at home, as a family and without any difficulty.

Apple pie

Ingredients

  • 125g margarine or softened butter
  • 200g flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 8g vanilla sugar
  • 125g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons yeast (powdered)
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

For the top of the cake:

  • 750g of apples
  • 75g margarine or butter
  • To decorate:
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam
  • 1 tablespoon of water

Preparation

The first thing we will do in this recipe with apples is to remove the skin from the apples and cut the pieces, making a long cut in each piece, reserving the fruits to continue with the preparation.

To prepare the cake dough, beat the margarine or butter in a bowl, as we beat, add the normal and vanilla sugar, lemon juice and a pinch of salt. All this is carried out without stopping beating.

With the mixer at maximum power, we add each egg little by little, while in a separate container we mix the flour together with the yeast to later integrate it into the mixture in the bowl.

Still beating, add the two tablespoons of milk, continue beating for a few more seconds until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, with all the ingredients well incorporated.

In a mold of about 25cm in diameter, previously greased to prevent the dough from sticking, pour the mixture making sure that it looks completely smooth.

Before cooking, place the apples on top of the mixture, either in a ring or crown shape. We melt the 25g of butter and spread it over the apples, then we take the preparation to the oven at 180° (preheated) for about 40-45 minutes.

When the cake is almost ready, place the tablespoons of jam and water in a small saucepan, stirring constantly until boiling.

Finally, we filter the apricot syrup so that it does not have lumps. Once the cake is ready, it is removed from the oven, polished with the syrup and allowed to cool before removing it from the mold (unmold).

Candy Apples

Ingredients

  • Red apples (the number depends on the amount you want to prepare)
  • 1/2 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 300g sugar
  • 100g butter
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Preparation

Wash the apples very well, then dry them and without removing the skin, cut the two ends a little to insert a large wooden stick through them.

In a saucepan, place the sugar and lemon juice, also adding two large tablespoons of water, let it cook over low heat. Wait for the sugar to melt, stirring constantly so it doesn't burn.

Once the sugar is melted, add the butter and continue cooking over low heat while stirring constantly. When the edges of the caramel begin to color, turn off the heat and add the colouring, mixing the preparation well.

Fill a container with cold water and place it near where you have the caramel ready. Holding the apples by the stick, dip them into the caramel, making sure they are completely covered.

Immediately after, take them out and put them in the cold water so that the caramel cools and hardens, remember that the layer should not be too thick, otherwise it would be very difficult to eat.

Apple cake

Ingredients

  • 1 natural yogurt
  • 3 cups (same measure of yogurt) self-raising flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups of sugar (following the measure of the flour)
  • 2 apples
  • Vegetable oil
  • Vanilla
  • Lemon zest
  • Apricot jam

Preparation

For this recipe with apples, start by placing the oven at 180° so that it preheats. In a bowl, mix the eggs together with the sugar until they are properly integrated and turn white.

To this mixture add the yogurt, later, with the measure of this (the glass), pour the same amount of vegetable oil, also add the vanilla essence and the lemon zest.

When all these ingredients are completely mixed, gradually add the flour. After finishing the mixture, pour it into a previously greased and floured mold, if you like you can put baking paper on it.

The next thing will be to peel the apples, cut them into four parts and then into thin slices. Place the slices on the dough from the center out in a circular pattern, covering it all.

Bake for 40 or 45 minutes, until fully cooked. After the time has passed, remove the cake from the oven (letting it cool for a few minutes), then unmold it and let it cool a little more; To finish, spread the apricot jam with the help of a kitchen brush.

Recipes with apples: Apples stuffed with chicken

Ingredients

  • 8 apples
  • 2 onions
  • 500g chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 pine nuts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • rosemary (twigs)

Preparation

We will start by washing the apples and cutting the upper part (lid) and then remove the pulp, which we will chop and reserve for later use.
