Ingredients 

  • 300 grams of flour.
  • 3 teaspoons of salt.
  • 100 grams of margarine. 
  • 15 gr of fresh yeast.
  • 1 cup of warm water. 

Preparation of the fat croissants

  • The first thing we are going to do is place the flour, together with the margarine and salt, in a bowl; then we will integrate it with our fingers, until a moist granule has been formed.
  • Later, we will take our yeast and dissolve it in the warm water, and make sure that all the lumps have disappeared (we must be careful that the water is not too hot, as this will kill the yeast); when it is ready, we will proceed to integrate the liquid little by little, with the previous preparation. 
  • We will knead with our hands, until our dough is quite hard; when it is ready, we are going to cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes, in a warm environment. Because this is a fairly dense dough, we will see that it will not rise much, but that's fine, the dough does not need much rise. 
  • After the time, we are going to proceed to stretch our dough, until it is quite thin, but without breaking; With a knife, we are going to cut rectangles approximately 3 cm wide by 10 cm long. 
  • The next thing we will do is take a rectangle, and we roll one of the ends to the middle, then, we repeat the process with the other end, until the two meet in the middle; To prevent them from falling apart when baked, we must place one roll on top of the other, in the shape of a cross. We do this with all the rectangles. 
  • Now, we're going to get a clean tray, and we're going to place our little fat horns; then, we will take them to the oven, about 10 to 15 minutes, until they are a little golden.
